AZUR WINERY, NAPA VALLEY

After spending several years in France, Elan Fayard returned to Napa with a dream of producing well-crafted wines reminiscent of what she experienced in Provence. She founded Azur with the intent of creating terroir-driven wines. With each vintage, winemaker Julien Fayard aims to create the highest quality wines representative of French and American winemaking styles. Each bottle is a pure expression of the fruit, soil, vines and climate as well as the place and history.

BARNETT VINEYARD, NAPA VALLEY

Barnett Vineyard’s location high atop Spring Mountain doesn’t just afford visitors stunning views of Napa Valley down below. The rocky mountainside is ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and the blending varietals of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Owners Fiona and Hal Barnett planted the first vines in terraced rows in 1984 and expanded their plantings to fourteen acres by 1988. The vines yield an average of less than two tons of fruit per acre resulting in rich, intense wines that have become synonymous with the Barnett name.

BRICOLEUR VINEYARDS, SONOMA

Owned and operated by Exclusive Resorts Member Mark Hanson, Bricoleur Vineyards is an idyllic Russian River Valley retreat that is home to vineyards, olive groves, and a honey farm. Winemaker Cary Gott crafts their elegant wines, ranging from unoaked Chardonnay to Alexander Valley Zinfandel.

CHATEAU MONTELENA, NAPA

Even if you’ve never set foot in Napa Valley, Chateau Montelena looms large in America’s wine community. It produced the winning white wine in the pivotal 1976 Judgment of Paris, earning its inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. A bottle of the victorious 1973 Chardonnay is part of the permanent collection at the Smithsonian. While Chardonnay first brought the spotlight to Chateau Montelena, these days, Cabernet Sauvignon reigns supreme. The company’s Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, from vines situated on gentle slopes composed mostly of alluvial soils, produces wines prized for their balance and elegance.

FAUST, NAPA

In 1998 the Huneeus family found this property, fell in love with it, and saw the potential of a former dairy farm. The property embodies all the unique attributes of a world-class estate—diversity of soil, elevation, exposition and climate. This was destined be the vineyard source for an exceptional wine. Faust is a tribute to Napa Valley’s noblest grape—full-bodied, decadently rich and unctuous Cabernet Sauvignon.

FLOWERS, SONOMA

Nearly 30 years ago, Joan and Walt Flowers pioneered the growing of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on the rugged coastal ridges of the extreme Sonoma Coast. Joan and Walt Flowers had a simple goal—make exceptional wine that captures the wild beauty of the land and the spirit of the Sonoma Coast. This passion drives everything they do—farming responsibly, harvesting by hand, using 100% native fermentation, and crafting wine with minimal intervention.

THE LEARNING CENTER, MEADOWOOD, NAPA VALLEY

The Learning Center at Meadowood Estate provides unique, customized tastings and education to guests of Meadowood Napa Valley and the members-only winery The Napa Valley Reserve. Exclusive Resorts Members are invited to join the Learning Center’s Directors of Wine Education for a series of one-hour virtual tastings that will look at the fundamentals of wine appreciation and explore the world of wine, both in Napa and beyond.

QUINTESSA, NAPA VALLEY

Tucked away in the heart of Rutherford, Quintessa is a 280-acre site that reflects a diversity of geology, biodiversity, exposures and microclimates. Inspired by this distinct property, founders Agustin and Valeria Huneeus believed that it was destined to become one of the world’s great wine estates. Today, a total of 160 acres are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Carménère on 26 vineyard blocks. Each block is farmed organically and biodynamically.

DON'T MISS: The 90-minute Quintessential Experience includes a tasting flight of five wines, including two-barrel samples, served on a private pavilion surrounded by vine-covered hills.


SINEGAL ESTATE WINERY

The first vines were planted at this St. Helena property in 1881. The land passed through generations of winemakers, and in 2013 was purchased by the Sinegal family, who then conducted a multi-million-dollar project to expand and modernize the property. Nine and a half acres of organic vines produce their four wines including Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. Before the wine gets to your table, though, there are exactly 1,403 steps involved in every blend, starting with soil samples and ending with labeling the bottles.

DON’T MISS: After your tasting on the terrace, walk through the winery’s lush gardens and across the wooden bridge to their private lake, a sanctuary for local fish and fowl.


STAGLIN FAMILY, NAPA VALLEY

Founded in 1985 by Shari, Garen, Brandon, and Shannon Staglin, Staglin Family Vineyard takes pride in the tradition of family ownership and participation. With an uncompromising commitment to quality, their mission is to produce world class wines that reflect the distinctive character of this historic Rutherford Bench estate. As stewards of this land, they farm the vineyard organically, tap into solar fields for power, and produce the wines in a state-of-the-art underground production facility.

DON'T MISS: Staglin is known for its award-winning Chardonnay and Cabernet but also makes an exceptional Sangiovese under the Stagliano label.
