We’ve only offered it for the last nine months, but already Members can’t get enough of our Adventure called Dolomites, Italy: A Gourmet Ski Safari. Read on to learn why they’re raving about a ski area that is arguably the world’s best, and how ER and our partner made this a must-do-again vacation!

World-Class Skiing

Italian Dolomites - 90,000 acres of mountainous terrain

Perfect for the intermediate skier and above, this Adventure combines skiing with sightseeing and stops for on-piste lunches along the way. Your guide will choose a route that is fun and accessible to all ski abilities in the group. Start on the groomers and master on piste skiing in your first few days, then (provided the weather cooperates) get adventurous in the untouched powder found off piste. Your every ski fantasy can be fulfilled on an Italian ski safari.

Ski touring, a popular activity in Europe, is just catching on in the US. It allows you to skip the van transfers and instead travel from accommodation to accommodation by the power of your own two skis. Despite its remote location, this Adventure is easily accessed via flights into and out of Venice, Italy. Perfect for the intermediate skier and above, this trip combines skiing with sightseeing, and you’ll stop for on-piste lunches along the way.

As a skier, it is arguably the best ski area in the world. Has to be on the top of every skier’s bucket list. Would not have known about it except for ER.

Top-Notch, Individualized Service

ER partners with local dynamo Dolomite Mountains

Ski with just a small pack (or carry nothing at all, if you choose!) and our partner’s team will transfer your luggage from hut to hut. Your mountain guide can take you to the beginners’ slopes of the lower area or to technical pistes such as the Canalone and the famous Schuss. Your guide will choose a route that is fun and accessible to all ski abilities in the group.

The service was impeccable, and our guide was an expert and extremely personable. All in all, one of the best trips I’ve ever taken with ER.

Charming, Intimate Accommodations. Michelin-star Cuisine

Rustic rifugios and elegant hotels. Hearty, high-end meals

Rifugios – traditional mountain huts that evoke the feel of charming inns – offer an authentic taste of local hospitality as well as stunning mountain views. Perched high atop mountain peaks and deep in remote valleys, they’re the ultimate ski-in/ski-out lodging. Humble yet cozy, most rifugios are family run (think of them like mountain-top B&Bs) and offer comfy beds and delicious home-cooked meals. Savor the ultimate in accommodations and cuisine at Hotel Rosa Alpina, a renowned inn located in charming San Cassiano. Restaurant St. Hubertus is a tiny two Michelin star eatery offering just 11 tables and all the intimacy needed at the end of such an Adventure.

Loved the rifugios. So much charm. Great intimate environment. A huge hit for us.

We had a fantastic time, and I really do want to do this trip multiple times in the coming years. It was that good that I want to share it with many of my friends in years to come.
